Sally and Richard met through a mutual friend who worked at the desk next to Sally’s on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in New York. The pair did the long distance thing throughout the campaign, and then when Sally moved back to DC, Richard officially asked her out. Two years later, he proposed on a walk on the beach while the pair were visiting Richard’s parents in the Hamptons.

Their September wedding at the Goodstone Inn featured a sage and white color scheme with seasonal flowers, and a tent that Sally says was beyond her wildest tented-wedding dreams. As a nod to two places they hold dear–Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and Southampton, New York–favors were treats from the two beach towns that included Tate’s cookies, Candy Kitchen saltwater taffy, Dogfish Head and Montauk Brewing Company beer, and Utz crab chips.
