DC Defenders fans break out into a ‘f— Dan Snyder’ chant

Dan Snyder is exploring a sale of the Washington Commanders, but that hasn’t seemed to buy him any goodwill in the District.

Fans at a D.C. Defenders game broke out into a “f—- Dan Snyder” chant Sunday, days after the Washington Commanders owner was caught up in another wave of negative headlines. Snyder has yet to sell the Commanders, who recently ranked last in an NFLPA survey for working conditions.

Though Sunday’s chant took place at a different stadium than FedEx Field, this was far from the first display of public angst toward the embattled billionaire. Last November, fans at FedEx Field chanted “Sell the team!” after his wife, co-owner Tanya Snyder, was shown in a video promoting breast cancer awareness.

The Defenders, meanwhile, are 3-0 in the XFL’s latest revival. Their home games at Audi Field are also quickly gaining a reputation for a rowdy atmosphere, as fans have started chucking lemons onto the field and have continued the tradition of crafting a giant beer snake — the latter of which became a staple during the previous Defenders era.
