Garrett Johnson’s 18 points helped George Washington defeat Maryland-Eastern Shore 69-63 on Saturday night.

Johnson also contributed 10 rebounds for the Revolutionaries (11-2). Darren Buchanan Jr. scored 14 points and added eight rebounds. James Bishop had 11 points and shot 3 of 10 from the field and 4 for 6 from the line.

The Hawks (2-9) were led by Troy Hupstead, who recorded 25 points and nine rebounds. Devon Ellis added 16 points and eight rebounds for Maryland-Eastern Shore. In addition, Chace Davis had 11 points. The loss was the Hawks’ seventh in a row.
