Consumers will no longer need two all-beef patties, lettuce, cheese, pickles, or onions on a sesame seed bun to enjoy Big Mac sauce.
The special sauce normally found on McDonald’s Big Mac burgers will now also be available in separate side dipping cups — but only for orders made on the McDonald’s app at participating U.S. locations.
The Big Mac dipping cups will be free with every order of chicken McNuggets, and will also be available to order a la carte for other McDonald’s menu items.
The limited-time offering of Big Mac sauce starts April 27.
The cups will be silver and blue, an homage to the original silver and blue wrappers used for the first Big Macs when they debuted in 1968.
The upcoming promotion is not the first time the global fast food giant has made Big Mac sauce available separate from its eponymous burger. In 2017, the company gave away 10,000 bottles of the stuff.
The burgers themselves will also be getting more of their special sauce, as part of a series of upgrades to core menu items announced by McDonald’s. Other changes to McDonald’s burgers included softer buns and gooier cheese, the company said.
